Dean Bank has received and returned a number of counterfeit Treasurer's Checks as well as Money Orders from financial institutions in Arkansas, South Carolina and Ohio. We'd like our customers, local businesses and financial institutions that may have received them to know that they are not legitimate financial instruments and you should contact the proper authorities right away should you have one presented.

Dean Bank is aware of the recently discovered Heartbleed bug that has been the subject of recent attention and discussion in the media. This security exploit allows unauthorized access to secure websites, possibly exposing usernames and passwords.

As a reminder to our customers, this weekend the bank moved its data processing to an off-site, “data center” operated by our current data processing partner.  Here is a summary of what will still occur and how these occurrences will impact you:

Our Internet Banking provider will be performing necessary system maintenance the weekend of October 18^th. As a result, our Telephone Banking, Online Banking, Bill Pay and Mobile Banking application (including Mobile Check Deposit) will be unavailable beginning at 2:00 PM. on Saturday, October 18.

NEW!!  Customers opening a new checking account or who may have lost their debit card can now have a new or replacement card printed at any of our four branch locations in just minutes.  Choose from our standard design or four new gallery design images, each depicitng a notable location in our branch communities.  Dean Bank now also offers our customers a PERSONALIZED Debit MasterCard®, printed instantly on-demand with a photo you supply! I regret to inform you that the Bill Pay, Mobile Banking and Mobile Check Deposit conversion, scheduled to begin on June 6^th must be rescheduled. 

A few months ago I announced we’d be converting our Bill Payment solution, as well as our Mobile Banking and Mobile Check Deposit applications.  I’m confident that the issues discovered in late May, which delayed the conversion to our new electronic banking platform, have been resolved and we are ready to move ahead.  We will begin the electronic banking services conversion on Tuesday September 19^th and finish on Thursday September 21^st.

The year 2019 marks the 130^th anniversary of Dean Bank but don’t expect a lot of fanfare over this anniversary.  It’s just another year in the history of an organization dedicated to the success of our customers.

If you were to ask a random person: “what first comes to mind when you think of an important date in May”?  The most likely response might be Mother’s Day or Memorial Day!  Here at Dean Bank it’s “New Year’s Day”!  April 30 ended the bank’s fiscal year and May 1 began a new one.
